• The importance of technique in executing game plans.
To Summarise
1. Groove Technique via easy feeds and repetition of shots
2. Gradually intensify the feed and increase the level of difficulty.
3. Test techniques from all angles of feed, swing and spin.
4. Maintain technique in run chase situation from all angles and types of swing and spin while under match type pressure and incorporating running between the wickets.
The points 1, 2, 3 and 4 can be split up into swing sessions, spin sessions and mixed, this will help in forming a program to suit the needs of players.
Remember
Groove shot – progressively intensify feed – set up run chase to incorporate the specific shot you have been practicing.
We endeavor to constantly fine tune and improve technique at every stage of the session.
The emphasis will be to promote a mental state to handle match situations.
We believe that the more consistently you maintain your technique under pressure for longer periods of time, the closer you are getting to playing first class cricket.
While we give the trainees information on technique and skill initially, we encourage them to question regularly. This ensures ownership of their own development and therefore has maximum impact on the understanding of their own game.
The best players in the world have efficient basic techniques that add to their natural flare for the game.
Coaches are invited to bring a talented school/club between the ages of 14 and 18 so that they can have a days specialist batting coaching free of charge. Such participants have to make their own arrangements for lunch.Throughout the day the coaches will interact with the participants, sharing new ideas in the form of drills and coaching techniques.
