Cricket is a game that is worshipped in India. It has a larger than life appeal to it. A lot of young boys out there want to become cricketers. Hence there is a lot of scope for training young talents in our country to professional standards.
Cricket coaching process can be divided into three segments: planning, conducting and evaluating. One of the most important qualities that a cricket coach must possess is to know how to communicate effectively with team members and to motivate them from time to time.
Planning training programs for new cricket aspirants, advising players on their nutritional needs, teaching them the skills of concentration, sharing with them the safety rules that need to be followed and inculcating a sense of sportsmanship in them are some of the roles of a good cricket coach.
Cricket coaching occurs at all levels. Be it a school ground or a world-class stadium for national players, quintessentially the role of a coach remains the same. There are many summer camps organized by various institutions across the country that encourage cricket coaching for young cricketing talent in India.
Cricket coaching is an art based on the science of the game. A coach is a leader that takes forth the team with him/her. A coach needs to explain to his students that he does not expect perfection at the very first instance, but commitment and discipline towards the game is essential to become a good cricketer. As a coach, it is important to understand your players before you try to influence or motivate them. As a coach, you must command respect and authority.
For people aspiring to become cricket coaches, there is good news. With the recent modifications in game formats like twenty-20, the power of the game is on the rise. There is a lot of scope for cricket coaching in India as well as in other countries.
